about the 2 year battery life... thats up-to 2 years and depends highly upon usage. battery life is more like up-to 2-3 months depending highly upon the type of batteries you use.

I have this installed on my front entrance for about a year now via battery and performance is mediocre but acceptable.

A major problem I had is that every time a car passed by my house despite the doorbell not having view of the street I would get alerts which extremely drained the battery. Installing the wedge which points the doorbell at an angle helped to mitigate this issue significantly though.

I'm thinking the problem will appear again in the summer months however as I suspect the sun is reflecting off passing cars which were triggering the alerts. The wedge does help though that's for sure.

Battery life is about 5 months for me after I installed the wedge to reduce alerts and 2 months without it.

Also, you can attach a cheap USB drive to the Sync Model 2 to record footage ergo you don't need to pay anything for viewing past video clips/alerts.

Viewing video via USB is slow to load however and clips are not named in a logical/comprehensible manner. For example, I took out my trash today at 12:36AM EST and the recorded video file is named 4061835624. The videos are displayed in sequence though; from newest to oldest descending so it's still usable if somewhat annoying.

Overall, I would recommend installing Blink doorbells on a rarely used backdoor to reduce false alerts plus battery usage and get something else for your front as my experience has been less than stellar...

You can use the same module with multiple cameras. I have several outdoor camera, the doorbell, and an indoor mini camera all on the same module. I have a long drive way and the camera is set up at an angle pointing towards the opposite side of door frame and not activated by cars passing by on the street. With just my family and delivery that activate the doorbell around 10 times a day, the lithium battery last around 3 months with wired connection.
