Anyone ever walled one of these off to make a shed? =)

Depends on the area. Some places you need a permit for anything bigger than a small shed (80 square feet). Other places you can build as large as like a small 1 car garage (250sf) before you need a permit. My area is 120sf so technically this would need a permit. Personally I probably wouldn't get a permit unless they called me out on it, then i'd get one after the fact.

If you can't find the answer on your own, then don't bother getting this. Finding out your answer is 10x easier than building this

This is a great deal I built one 3 years ago .. requires atleast 2 people but 4 make it a lot easier .. also if you are putting it on lawn make sure you pour concrete footings for the cement anchors
Is rain loud on the roof?

Had heavy rain never had any issues .. there are a few channels to help water come down thru the sides quickly

What kind of people could i hire to out this together and how much can I expect to pay? I am in PA
Find some Amish folks, take a few days of vacation and pay them to set it up. You'll probably have to drive them to and from unless they are within easy bicycle (for some communities) or carriage distance. I'm not sure what they would charge.

Why would you buy again? You are moving to new place and need this again 😂

Raising the legs is unnecessary. The chance of wood rot from direct contact to the pavers will likely take decades. If you were to put it on grass it might rot a bit faster. But it would be many, many years for that to occur. The truth is the gazebo will not last as long as possible wood rot. It is quality made but I expect after 5-10 years you might get some damage, mostly from mold and drying in the sun, etc.
Good to know thank you! Is it safe to use something like a solo stove or grill under it?

Does putting this on your existing concrete slab requires getting a permit?

Each municipality or your HOA can have setback rules. Some places want it setback from the property line, some require it be adjacent to the home, some want matching color, some have height limits.

Additionally, if your property has a utility easement, you're not allowed to place a permanent structure. While I guess technically this structure could be moved, I'm sure that would be problematic for all involved.

90% of code violations are from neighbor complaints or easement access. So stay friendly.

For those who have this (or anyone with knowledge worth sharing), is there a way to modify this in order to close this off with nets/curtains to keep mosquitoes flying bugs out? Very tempted to purchase this as we're renovating the backyard, but some sort of enclosure is a must for my wife who's terrified of bugs.

You will want camping netting as this is rated for outdoors (UV resistant).

You could also get a kit, example:

Mosquitos need stagnant pools of water, this can include over irrigated landscape spots. What sucks is mosquitos will more likely travel from neighbors yard if they have stagnant conditions.

Dumb question - will decorative wood rot? or is it waterproof?

The decorative wood is just that, meant to hide what is happening at the beam connection.

Keep this from having contact with the earth or soil. If concrete or paver, definitely make sure water doesn't pool around any connection point. Each connection should be able to fully dry between storm events and never be submerged. As these are not pressure treated wood, its the insect damage that will reduce your total lifespan first.

I have pavilion version here

https://www.costco.com/yardistry-...98384.html

Prefer this style since it feels more open.

Used a clear sealer and water beads off. I should hit it with sealer again on the southern exposed areas which will take me an hour every spring.

Added a fan. No electric hook up but use a bluetti eb3a solar generator. Can also run an extension cord.

Would definitely buy again.

good idea to paint the wood with some oil for some color and to preserve it for a lot longer
I have this and the company's service rep said they recommend only water based stains and paint.

How to place the gazebos posts? I'm planning to place this on grass? Do I need concrete footing? Is that expensive To do or can I do it myself? Or any other way to set this up?
