Check your online account order status. After I received the email that my AirBnB cards were ready, and once I redeemed them, I was able to go to BestBuy.com and my BB eGift cards were then ready to redeem.

Seen a lot of airbnb horror stories lately. My experiences have been very positive. Only issue was one where the host (a real estate company that had 40 some airbnb listings in the town, and also spammed us with timeshare ads via airbnb's messaging system) accused us of spilling a drink and staining the carpet. Merely 30 minutes after we checked out, they claimed that they had already gotten a quote of $200 to professionally clean it (suuuure you did). The carpet had a a several stains already, and the spot where we had allegedly spilled a drink was underneath a couch. I ignored their request for additional payment, it expired, and I didn't have to pay anything. The host still left us a positive review. I left them a negative one. No regrets, was still a decent place at a good price, just a bit of annoying hassle.

Stick to places with lots of positive reviews (I consider anything below 4.8 bad, sad as that sounds), and actually read the reviews. If the place has a ridiculous cleaning fee, it will say so in the listing. If the host requires you to walk their cat or re-paint the walls before you leave, the reviews will likely mention that. If there are no reviews, good luck.

24 hour period for me. Bought 3 digital yesterday and 3 digital today, but I couldn't buy today until 24 hours from yesterday passed.

Be careful. If you choose to do the payment plan for an Airbnb booking, you cannot use a gift card for the second installment. It must be the original payment method.

Sorry as a correction, he was stationed at the Naval Air Station Oceana after graduation and that's when we met up with him.

I am no longer seeing the $30 egift card on either digital or physical order options. Seems like promotions might be over? Can anyone else confirm?

EDIT: Never mind - user error. Does not show if you have more than one gift card in cart at at ime.

They changed it sometime last year. Now you can change the payment option on your second installment. There's an option there to apply a credit (gift card) in that dialogue.

We went down to the front desk of the main condo association and showed them everything and they contacted the owner to tell them to fix it and not be our fault.

Another time we checked out of a condo in Panama City Beach and they tried to say we left the place a mess. We took photos of each room when we left to show the condition. They claimed a single spaghetti noodle that was under the cabinet on the floor showed we didn't clean up after ourselves and was going to keep the $500 deposit. We had to fight them by asking what the cleaning fee was for and after threatening to show our check-out photos to AirBnB and the string of messages they sent us threatening to keep the deposit did they ever return it.

We now use real estate companies that have rentals or find businesses that have multiple rentals in an area to book through directly. We've had more consistently positive results booking directly than by booking through a 3rd party.
I've had 47 airbnb stays since 2013, probably an average of 2-3 nights each, and haven't run into an issue that bad yet. I usually opt for the cheapest ones available.
