I don't own one, but I hear they work great. They're normally about 350 to 400, this is the lowest price I've seen. Probably still outside of my price range, but I'm sharing for those that have deeper pockets than I do.

I have experience with a manual indoor composter.
Smell, fruit flies, odor.
In my opinion composting is better left outside.
This electric one between the energy it consumes and the landfill space and ewaste it adds, after you tire of the fad and realization this is yet another thing to manage in your day to day, May not be worth the total 'cost' of owning it.

tthis is a carbon emission machine! this uses a lot of energy to compost to make you feel better about your carbon footprint. just compost outside or just throw them in the trash

While I agree with the other comments, not everyone has outdoor space. For people living in apartments with indoor plants, this is great. Sure it uses energy but it's less than $1 and reduces landfills.

For some, it can be about convenience. Composting takes time.

So if this fits your needs, go for it. It's a good deal.

It would take you about 500 years to offset the carbon waste (and personal monetary cost) of a completely moronic gadget like this. Between the lost space, the inconvenience, and the pathetic storage size .. Where to even begin?

I filled entire full size garbage buckets up with compostable material in a summer. This would last you hours. Absolutely nonsensical product. Disappointed with Vitamix here.

Want to learn how to compost? Grab an old garbage bucket. Drill hoes in it. Use an elastic S-hook strap to seal it from racoons. Then place it on top of 2-3 cement blocks to prevent rodents from easily getting in. Saved you $500.

In your "$1" pricing analysis did you forget the tons of plastic waste generated in even purchasing a useless gizmoid like this? It even comes with plastic, rent-seeking subscription-model filters. Absolutely indefensible.
