Downloaded this maybe a month ago for free also. It's a fun little game, have spent $0 on micro transactions. You can beat it without spending any money. There are not even pop ads when going through menus to convince you to buy, it is a stand alone game, only transactions are if you want upgraded characters, but they are not needed.

Same here, I got it when it was free last time and haven't spent anything. I'm hooked on the game, didn't expect that

I've been enjoying this game on Android. You can optionally purchase extra hero characters, but you don't need to. The 3 you get for free are just fine. You can also optionally buy extra game currency that is used to purchase one time use items you can use during games (orbital strikes, resource bonus, etc) but they aren't needed. The game isn't really annoying about trying to get you to purchase stuff, like some can be. Basically, you don't need to spend any money you enjoy it and it's actually a pretty fun game. It's an RTS, with a focus on using your hero and other unit groups.

Tried it last time it was free, played maybe 2 ish hours? couldn't get into it, removed it. If it's free, try it out and see if you enjoy it
