Chiming in, supposedly the 1080p screen on these are decent. I got a 4k touchscreen 5540 and the screen is fantastic. Works well enough for portable video editing. The 5540 is really a xps 7590 with a weaker gpu. I would buy again, preferably A stock instead of B but I am happy with mine. Screen came mint
Could we fix the title please. It's 40$ off not 40% off. I'm still interested but not as interested.
Wait so the 40% is baked into the price? The coupon is 40$ off, and you have to remove the free shipping to use the 40$ off coupon. I'm tired already…. Sigh.

I brought a 5540 touch with no OS for $479 and cannot wait to get it after I read your comments.

The screen is really great. I don't care if it kills the battery. I do not use the touch screen at all. I do wish I got the 1tb drive. I never used storage but now with video editing I am going through it quick.
What are you all taking about,, $40 off? IT IS 40% off, period.
Here is copy/paste from the site, "40% off Dell Precision 5530 Laptops (excl. Clearance and previous sales), plus free ground ship – use coupon code: 4UONLY5530"
Has anyone had to return a refurb from DellRefurbished because it was defective out of the box?
Got two laptops over the past couple of weeks. One is great. One has serious keyboard problems (certain keys don't properly register unless you press them very hard).
They say returns are at customer expense, which if it's because you don't like it, I get. But for a defect out of the box? I don't want to pay for that.

Yes, I mentioned this in response number 1. Defective returns are paid for by them, but you have to call. Be prepared to be on hold for a while.

It probably gets confusing at some point for SD staff who post Dell refurb deals every day (if not multiple times a day).
