I have it outside between my garage doors with a big "PACKAGES PLEASE" sign and most of my smaller FEDEX, UPS and USPS packages make it in the box and out of the wind and weather.
The only (maybe) problem is if the kids sit on top, the lid latches and then my mail lady doesn't know she has to pull hard on it to open it.
My solution was to fill the latch with hot glue. I can easily remove later if I decide to and the hot glue is 100% weatherproof.
Many inexpensive and durable metal signs available on Amazon, the one I purchased fir $5 is not currently available but here is link to get you started.
