Anyone know if, or how difficult conversion to 4WD would be? I have spare electronics to do a brushless conversion already.

EDIT: Doesn't look like it's possible to do a 4WD conversion. Granite 2WD and Granite 4WD only share a name, and nothing else.

From what I know, this model has the same name as the 4x4 Granite, but it's a different chassis (I looked it up on Reddit). Based on that, there really aren't any parts available to make the conversion.

Thanks, Came to the same conclusion, probably after reading the same thread.

Is this voted down because it's 2WD and brushed and folks are preferring a 4WD brushless? As a starter car for the kiddos this looks like a good deal to me.

It's solid kids or starter truck. Have had it for just over a year with 2s lipo's. It's used on grass and dirt with the throttle turned down most of the time for the kids. If your going balls out on blacktop it will eat up the outdrive cups. Keep a stock of those.

This is a fantastic truck for kids. Got 2 a couple years ago and they have been great. The soldering on motor connections could have been better but I was able to fix that easy peasy. Great trucks when I got them for $50 a couple Black Fridays ago.

Exact same experience… my kids love it, only upgrade was to 2s lipo. Would recommend this as a fantastic intro into hobby level rc cars.

I wound up buying both the granite voltage AND the much pricier granite 3s blx, which was also 50 bucks off.

The voltage is a lot of fun, and seems to be a great kids or starter car. Its a good size, and feels quite durable. Launching it off the deck and jumping hills is a bunch of fun. While not slow, you could pretty easily outgrow it in short order. I also found that the battery low voltage cutoff kicks in on lower c-rated lipo batteries. A popular workaround is to rn it in NiMh mode without a cutoff, and use a LiPo alarm instead. A few risk-takers on youtube have tried 3s batteries in the voltage, and it seems like it works. The esc seems to be rated for 3s, however the motor is not. Though brushed motors are fairly cheap if the stock one gets smoked. Apparently the dogbone collars wear out quickly on 3s, so you might need to keep those on hand. I havent tried 3s personally on the car since my son will be driving this one.

The granite 3s blx is a monster. Its a bit taller than the voltage, and as such, a bit more prone to rolling over, especially with the extra power on tap. I 3D printed up some wheel extensions for it, while I wait for parts to properly widen stance (typhon A-arms, turnbuckles). I've only played around the front yard and street with this car, so I havent yet tried it on a 3s battery, but even on 2s it's a monster. I'll have to take it to a park or a field to test 3s, but I suspect it will be downright vicious. Even on woefully small batteries (2s 2200 mah 40c) I've not had the low voltage cutoff kick in prematurely. The small batteries are only good for 5-7 minutes, but they are always fully used up. Since I have a ton of 2200 mah 2s and 3s batteries, I plan to run two bats in parallel, which will also help with current delivery.

Anyway, these cars are still on sale until tomorrow, and well worth a look. It was a bit more than I initially wanted to spend, but I'm glad I pulled the trigger on them, especially the 3s BLX.
