Here's the TL;DR version of this watch: you need this is you're a) during ultra endurance racing (100-200+ miles), b) if you're hiking/trekking for a couple weeks at a time, or c) cannot possibly be bothered to charge the battery every 2 weeks.

Otherwise, if you're a runner get something from the Forerunner line, if you do multi sport racing the Fenix line, just an everyday user that wants a smartwatch that lasts longer than 12 hours, the Venu line.

This particular model Enduro has the previous version hr sensor from the Fenix 6 series. The carbon gray model is more expensive because it's titanium and is 11 grams lighter than the steel version.
The Enduro is meant for ultrarunners. Ridiculous battery life, no music or maps which would drain battery life (still has breadcrumb trail though).

I read somewhere that the Enduro is a bit slower to process than Fenix 6 for some reason. You can get Fenix 6x Sapphire for $380 or so

Garmin has an excellent "Compare" feature on their website. I've used it a ton...

At this price they couldnt have an option for a traditional clock face, only digital?
I am not sure about exactly this model, but most of their watches have ability to download different faces from their app. There are hundreds of different ones, you can choose whatever face you want there.

You're saying that they may not necessarily advertise that feature? Maybe I'm the only one who cares but to me seeing the open clock face makes me see the time much more quickly than digital when I'm out there working, maybe other people don't care about this as much but I think it's a pretty cool feature for very minimal effort on garmin's part... I used to have a golf wash that had that by default but I lost it so I'm trying to replace it with maybe something better
Not sure if you need physical hands or on screen..
Check this out: https://apps.garmin.com/en-US it should give you an idea of what you can do with it.

Thanks man I'll check, and no just the visual... When I glance quickly it's much easier to see I have 12 minutes left on a analog "face" than digital numbers... All phones provide this feature by default, surprised every digital watch doesn't

The only reason I won't purchase a Garmin watch is because I can't understand all the different models. Comparisons or not, I'll always feel like I'm "missing" something. Even the top tier watch at $2,700 would be fine for me if it incorporated everything.... Great price for this watch though!

There are a lot of excellent watch faces available in the ConnectIQ store. I'm currently using the Summit Watch Face V2 analog one. It's easy to read, highly customizable and even shows seconds when you lift your wrist.

No maps is a dealbreaker for anyone doing serious trail running or hiking.

For most people the Fenix 6 Pro that's been on sale recently for $350 is a better choice. It has maps and music with the only tradeoff being battery life. This is really niche for Ultra Marathoners and other sports where the 80 hour GPS tracking capability really comes into play. The built-in flashlight is another killer feature for this watch that isn't on any other Garmin.

edit: No flashlight on this first gen as pointed out by @adimperial
