8gb and 256gb. why do top manufacturers make premium laptops with pathetic spec?
16gb and 512gb should be minimum for laptops over $1000.
8gb ram is planned obsolescence, it's all they have left to ensure you need to buy a new one in 5 years.. with 16 gb ram and ssd they know the average person will keep using it for ten years or till it's dead..
i got the 11th gen with 16 gb and i won't be replacing it as long as i can get windows updates, which could very well be ten years from now
Agreed. You open 10 tabs on chrome and the whole laptop freezes over with 8GB.
If this is true for you
You are infected with malware
I can open several hundred chrome tabs on windows 10 pro 4gb ram n2970 I think it is.
and on my 8gb newer more powerful I can do over 1000 with no noticeable slowdown.

I bought the 15inch version of this with the i5 / 8GB and it works flawlessly. It's super light, but the trade off is that it definitely has quite a bit of flex on the chassis vs. say an XPS laptop (which I also owned).
I have a desktop so the laptop is for when I'm on the couch or traveling so it doesn't get heavy usage, but when I'm browsing, watching shows, listening to music, looking at spreadsheets, etc, I don't even notice the difference vs. my 32GB RAM desktop with a 5900X.
Obviously depends on your use case, so if you're just casually browsing the web and doing what 99% of the people do on a laptop, you'll be fine. If you're a power user doing demanding software, then obviously look somewhere else?

lol in ur dream my friend.
with 4g 4g you cant even type properly on certain apps.
i installed win 10 brand 2 days ago. and the i3-91000 had 4gb with 256 ssd. and it was stuttering nonstop. I had to upgrade to 8gb just to make it functional. i found an extra 16gb and now everything is smooth.
Book2 Pro weights 1.92lbs while Book3 Pro is way heavier at 2.58lbs while the battery is the same at 63kWh, but the old gen suffers from poor thermal, making it only suitable for web browsing, Zoom, office applications etc, which might find 8GB ram acceptable, given SSD is fast enough to give a little helping hand. I guess the new series improve the thermal design so that's why.
Personally, I am happy with the ultra light weight and razor thin design last gen, and the price is right. I don't find Chrome with 10 tabs + Word + Excel unusable, unlike many suspected.

I've had this for over a year and love it. I actually have another laptop (Dell Inspiron 14 Plus), but use this any time I'm traveling out of town. It's so light that I just throw it in my backpack and forget it's even there. Long battery life is great for watching movies on flights too. I've never had performance issues but I also don't have a million tabs open at once.

But that Book3 pro is looking enticing too.
