Should I buy digital games or physical games, all things being equal?
My last foray into console gaming was with an Xbox One and it seemed like most physical games I bought came with fairly essential key codes that locked things to your account and didn't allow you to easily resell the game afterwards, negating one of the main benefits of a physical game. I don't know how the Switch ecosystem works, though. Do I have the ability to load an entire physical game onto the SD card so I don't need to carry physical games around? Would love some insight for a noob, here. Thanks in advance!! :-)
pros:
- You can lend the card to friends, or play on your other switch devices if you have any
- You can sell the game if you don't want it anymore. Resale value is very good for Nintendo games.
- If anything happens to your Nintendo account, you can still install and play the game.
Cons:
- You need to insert the card as proof of ownership every time you want to play the game, even if you install it on the SD card.
- It's possible to lose or misplace the card.
I personally like the convenience of digital, even though it means no reselling and no sharing.

Digital is awesome for games that have little or no resell value. Any title $25 or less I'll buy digital because it's probably going to be a worthless title is a year or two(think NBA2k23, carnival games, monster Hunter, etc)
Digital comes in handy if you game share with a kid or coworker. Me and my coworker sign into each others switch so we can have both full libraries across two devices. Also super helpful if you have two switches in the same household

You can install entire games, you'll still need the cartridge. And most games have large installs even with the cartridge.
You probably want a largish SD card, if you're anything like my family.
I generally prefer digital, even when my kid hasn't lost the cards. It's just always easier to click on a thing.
