Scotts 4 step program is on sale at Ace Hardware for $239. Because Ace isn't considered a big box store, it qualifies for the $50 rebate. I bought mine last Thursday, did the text rebate the same day and got my $50 from PayPal today.

Works for others as well:

Receive $20 per complete 5,000 sq. ft. Annual Program Receive $30 per complete 5,000 sq. ft. Annual Program for Seeding Receive $50 per complete 15,000 sq. ft. Annual Program Receive $75 per complete 15,000 sq. ft. Annual Program for Seeding

Rebate:

I know you can get this cheaper off season but this is the peak of fertilizing for spring.

What are the general thoughts on this kit? I'm a new homeowner and not well versed in lawncare, but I did dethatch and fertilize in the late fall but did not seed (Colorado). I have around 6000 sqft of yard with a few trees.

I'm done personally with scotts, esp their halts crabgrass preventer. Lesco stonewall blows scotts crabgrass preventer away. Im moving towards all Lesco products this year. More expensive but much better product

Want a thriving yard?

Stay away from anything with Scotts on the label.

If you have grass no need to seed, you want to spread a preemergent in the early Spring. Too early to fertilize in your area.

Id say you want to spread pre-emg when the temps dictate. For midwest i monitor https://gddtracker.msu.edu/ and https://www.greencastonline.com/t...emperature

Along with watching local temps.
If you spread to early you risk it wearing off early and having weeds.
