If you have to ask with that other garbage board there is no point in explaining it to you.

Wtf are you guys talking about? This deal has nothing to do with MSI, Gigabyte, or ASRock.

I think you got lost looking for the discussion about how to save $1 on fruit snacks.

Lmao what a terrible take. Just a tip, maybe try to educate yourself using the time you'd normally use to make ignorant comments.

This seems like a stellar deal if you want a high end motherboard

No its just a ripoff, msi has a z690 for $80 after rebate, what does 320$ more really get you here?

I've personally had very good experiences with MSI motherboards, and very bad experiences with ASrock motherboards.

However, if someone wants a "premium" product, there's nothing wrong with that.

To elaborate, very good experience with the cheapest EVGA motherboads, which lasted 6+ years and are still going strong, and horrible ASrock mid range $200 motherboards that both died right after the warranty expired.

I don't agree it's a "ripoff" however when you put it that way, $320 can go towards a great graphics card and more RAM, among other things.

It's just a matter of personal preference. Some people are happy with an old, inexpensive car while others want luxury and/or high performance. nod I'm sure there's a better analogy, but this one will suffice.

Basically one of the few boards that can really unlock the 12900/13900KS cpus.

Gigabyte is by far the worst component manufacturer along with the worst customer support in the industry. So, I'll take AsRock over Gigabyte any day!

For people who are willing to spend $400 on a motherboard, does this deal make any sense?

There is a huge differences between an average motherboard and this. Allowing high clock speed due to more stable power delivery. Can run faster ram due to not following the standard spec. If you want above normal performance you have pay.

For anything speakers, cars. you pay a lot extra for small boosts beyond normal.

Average user and average gamer has no interest in this. This is hardware enthusiast types. People who buy this, buy 3090/TI or 4090 type GPU for 1000$+ and 500-1000$+ monitors.

For less than half the price of brand new enthusiast-class motherboards, if someone wants to overclock the piss out of a 13th gen i9 and run DDR5 memory speeds upwards of 7400mhz (and spend $300 on said memory), sure, it makes sense. For the average slickdealer who would drive an hour to save $1 on a dozen oranges? No, not really.

Generally speaking, these boards are more geared for overclockers and tweakers. These 'enthusiast' boards have better components for the stressful power requirements when oc'ing. The Z rating allows for this (unlike AMD where I think nearly all Ryzen's are overclockable. I'm sure someone will correct me).

Its worth noting this is an E-atx board, so be sure your case will hold it as they're wider than many ATX boards.

I've built stable overclocks with Asus, MSI, and Asrock. All were $200 or less. Do you 'need' a board with this level of components? Your build and plans for your pc will determine that answer.

Would not pay this much for a 12th gen. However, posting this board on SD is like posting a sale on last year's Bentley on SD.

I run a MSI Z690 Tomahawk and am very happy with it.
