Isn't this a better buy at $279.00 with the top cover? Or is this basically for those who don't want/need the cover and prefer the front shelf attachment?
I already own the Walmart one. Which leads to my next question - does anyone have a hinged cover for the 36" griddle they would recommend? Most of the stuff I come across looks like thin sheet metal with a heat resistant powder coating. I was hoping to find something with a thicker material. Suggestions would be much appreciated!
Love my Blackstone and can't recommend them enough.

Finally pulled the trigger. Walmart is such a weird website. They wanted to charge me $50 to freight ship this thing for weeks and I wasn't willing to pay that. Now I've somehow got free shipping?
I picked one of these up when this deal was available a few weeks back.
Ordered for curbside pick-up in the evening and WalMart had it ready for pickup the next day by noon.
When they rolled the box out to me, it was beat within an inch of its life, but I peeked inside and everything was still in the original wrapping, with all the styrofoam/heavy duty cardboard packing still in place, so I loaded it up.
Got it home and spent ~45 minutes putting it together before getting to the very last step of placing the cast iron cooktop in place and realized that the entire grill body assembly had seen enough damage to warp the whole thing and the cast iron cooktop wouldn't seat into the holes meant for holding it in place. My guess is the box had taken quite a tumble during transport/stocking/etc and landed on a corner, causing significant structural damage.
Upon closer inspection you could see rivets that had popped off. I reached out to Blackstone, and after registering the warranty, they shipped me off a new body assembly (for free), which arrived about a week later. I spent another hour or so performing transplant surgery from the old body to the new and everything aligned and now looks great.
Lesson: if Wal-Mart tries to give you a grill in a box thats been beat like a shoplifter who got caught, don't accept it and ask for another if you want a speedy assembly.
Blackstone Customer Support was fast and easy to work with though, so kudos to them.

I visited nearby Walmart and saw couple of units available in partly torn boxes which felt like they were badly put together returns. I didn't end up buying. I see this deal with free shipping now and thinking of pulling the trigger.
Serious question, I want your thoughts. I was waiting for a deal on a good weber 3 burner steel model with side burner. Now seeing this and all the positive reviews, makes me wonder. If one were to choose either a weber grill or this one? which one? I know they are different but consider that I don't have money or space for both. And whichever I pick will be my only tool. Would this do what weber does? to some level? TIA for your thoughts.
Just picked this up to go with my new griddle. Great deal for the natural gas conversion kit + cover. Blackstone Propane to Natural Gas Conversion Kit for Grill, Compatible 28", 36" Griddles & Polyester Heavy Duty Flat top Gas Grill Cover, Water Resistant Fits 36" Griddle Station, Black
Blackstone I even compared all the bullet points and everything looks the same. So I can't tell if the one from OP ($499 marked down to $279) is as good of a deal as Walmart is making it out to seem.
Note: I tried doing store pickup of the the $327 one from a deal a few weeks ago and Walmart canceled it. Just trying to make sure I know what I'm getting between the 2 deals.

Is the Amazon one more premium compared to the WalmArt 36 inch Blackstone?
