Being made by Segway and saying ninebot (as well as having those black pieces attached to the frame) made me think this could be a childs electric bike. It is not.

Its a tank. 24lbs. My kid prefers the 20lb walmart bike to the 24lb Cannondale we bought him.

I'm all for finding a good deal on a bike, but poor quality bikes are dangerous. The really cheap bikes have crappy brakes and other parts that come loose (handlebars, steering stems). You're not saving any money if you have to go to the ER or worse.
There are bikes just as bad that are sold brand new, today, at Walmart. All bikes need some basic inspection for safety. It's not brain surgery though, any parent can find the information they need to quickly evaluate their kids bike.

Seems like a great bike for this price, but it's not "light weight" compared to other premium kids bikes. At this price it's a lot better than a Huffy / Walmart bike. But we're not better than a Woom (20lbs) or Priority (20lbs) or more affordable light weight bikes like the Belsize $200 (16lbs).

That's why you inspect the bike before buying it. If you see a bike that's rusted af and doesn't pedal or brake, screws or handles are wobbling or the chain doesn't stay on then you don't buy it. You should always make sure everything is good before buying it. I'll say most bikes on there are good and works fine. People just want to get rid of their bikes and not taking up garage space. I've purchased used bikes on FBM that I've taken to mountain trails and I haven't died yet. My kids have gone though a few bikes on there and they all worked fine. I just got tired of buying them new bikes every time they outgrow them and I end up selling them for a fraction of what I paid for it while it's still in great condition with little use.

Agree, but how many people on here are going to notice that the cheap chinese U brakes flex like taffy on and provide poor braking. There are absolutely some good bikes out there for good prices, but there is a ton of dangerous crap.

Meh, there are always pros and cons to certain things. Spend a few more ,say like $30 and you can get a really good used 18" kids bike. Or just buy this for $100+tax. To each their own.

Got a same size bike for my kid on Facebook Marketplace for like $10.

Kids don't need fancy bikes.

Unless you're rich that's a different story.

$10 bikes on FBM will be fine for kids.
That's a nice thought, but completely dependent on where you live. I can find bikes for my kid that are less than the price of new, but they are not cheap.

Unless your kid is racing, does 4 lbs really matter? I was lucky I got a donated bike with no brakes when I was a kid. I strapped a radio to the handlebar and powered it with a wheel generator I added a full bridge rectifier to. Spoiled kids don't appreciate things.

Almost bought this before I realized it wasn't electric.

What's that big black thing in front of the seat post if it isn't a battery? This thing seems almost deceptively designed to make people think it's electric when it's just a regular kid's bike with a Segway logo on it.

I'm always seeing Trek and Raleigh bikes for under $100. People pay a premium for these bikes and they're well taken care of. Kids just outgrew them. I'd much rather give my kid a like new Trek for $85 than a $150 Walmart bike that weighs 2x as much. Most people won't spend $400 on a kids bike.
If you live in a medium to large city, most have a bike co-op. They're non profit shops that teach you how to fix and tune up bikes. I bought a Marin road bike on FBM for under $50 that needed all new cables. I spent a few hours at the co-op and now have an amazing bike I ride almost daily. They asked for a tip when I left. Best $20 I've spent. Knowledge for a lifetime.

I agree. This looks like a h*** of a good deal but it also looks like a tank which takes all the value out of it.
