My second mayonnaise post in 30 days - so, I like mayo, and mayo has gotten pretty damn expensive. To give you an idea how good of a deal this is, Walmart sells the 11.5 oz squeeze bottle of Hellman's Mayo for $3.98 per bottle - and Walmart has no free delivery on this product (not sure if Walmart + even delivers this for free). At any rate, the Costco price is only $3.30 per 25 oz bottle vs Walmart's $3.98 for a bottle that is less than half the size. For some reason, I don't see this in the Costco coupon book or anywhere else, but I don't think it's a YMMV -- but, not certain one way or the other.

I know this is only so helpful, but if you really want good mayo you should try making your own.

Takes 2 minutes with an immersion blender and some common ingredients (egg, oil, mustard, lemon) and its world changing, kind of like when you go to a restaurant and wonder why the mayo there is so good.

Okay, of course I'm aware that eggs have increased in price. That said, do you REALLY think that the increase in the price of Mayo is proportional to the increase in the price of eggs? Even if eggs went up 300%, it depends how many eggs are used in a container of Mayo. Most Mayo containers are not as large as the one in the OP - they're usually in the 20oz or less size category. Also, have you looked at the ingredients list on a can of Mayo? Eggs are the third ingredient - after canola oil and water. So...

So... this large squeeze container in the OP is 25oz, but according to a quick Google search, there is only 1.613 eggs in a 30 oz container. This means there are .05376 eggs per oz of Hellman's Real Mayo. So, therefore, a 25 oz container of Hellman's Mayo contains only 25 x .05376 = 1.34 eggs. Unilever, the owner of the Hellman's brand is obviously buying eggs at a very low wholesale price, but even I can buy two dozen cage-free eggs at Costco for under about $6.49 (at retail), which is about 27 cents per egg. So...., even at retail prices, a 25 oz container of Hellman's contains only about $0.27 x 1.34 = $0.36 worth of eggs at Costco prices. So, 36 cents is the total cost at todays price - even if the increased price today has doubled, that means the cost of the eggs in a 25 oz bottle of Hellman's has only increased by maybe 18 cents. So... don't blame the price increase in Mayo on egg prices - egg price increases are more of an excuse than an actual explanation. The extra cost of eggs only contributes about 18 cents to the price of a 25oz bottle of Mayo - at BEST. To be fair, the big increase in the price of canola oil likely has more to do with the price increase of Mayo than the increase in egg prices.
Oh nice, it comes in the squeeze bottles. I hate the big jars of mayo they usually sell instead because that makes me require a spoon to use/clean.
