The venerable KitchenAid KSM7586 Pro Line 7 quart mixer with 1.3 hp DC high torque motor is on CLOSEOUT on the kitchenaid.com website for $499.99 with FREE SHIPPING until midnight March 29th in all three colors (Red, White and Silver). There is also a 10% coupon available from KitchenAid when you sign up for a Kitchenaid.com account (and your return period is extended to 60 days from the standard 30 days as well!) This brings your total price to about $450 before tax for what has been KitchenAid's most powerful residential service mixer.

According to what I have been told by a KitchenAid representative, the Pro Line 7 quart mixer is being discontinued and will be replaced by the new KSM70 mixer, which is also a 7 quart mixer but comes with a new designed AC (NOT DC) motor. The new AC motor in the KSM70 is a much better design than any of the earlier AC powered KitchenAid mixers to date, but it simply cannot compete with the proven DC motors in the Pro Line 7 quart and the Commercial 8 quart mixer when it comes to raw torque. This can be important if you are planning to use your mixer often to make large amounts of bread doughs, for example. Bottom line is that in my opinion, while the KSM70 is a step up from the older AC powered mixers such as the Professional 600, it is a step down from the Pro Line and the Commercial KSM8990 when it comes to the torque delivered by the motor.

The ProLine 7 quart mixer includes:
(1) 7 Quart Stainless Steel Bowl
(1) Coated Flat Beater
(1) Coated Metal PowerKnead™ Dough Hook
(1) Stainless Steel 11-Wire Whip
(1) Pouring shield
5 year Kitchenaid warranty

While the KSM70SN and the Commercial KitchenAid mixers include ALL stainless steel accessories, the Pro Line includes only a stainless steel wire whip. However, don't let this distract your focus from this deal! If you prefer the stainless accessories, you can buy the stainless steel dough hook and the stainless steel flat beater separately with the money you save and STILL be ahead of the game with cash to spare, AND have a much more powerful mixer to boot!

From what I was told by KitchenAid, once the existing stock of Pro Line mixers is gone, they're gone. The only large capacity KitchenAid mixer with the high torque DC motor going forward will then be the Commercial KSM8990 8 quart mixer, which sells for $800. If you have been contemplating upgrading to a more powerful, large capacity KitchenAid mixer, and value a high power torque motor, this might be good time to snag one of KitchenAid's most powerful mixers for $450 (plus tax) with FREE SHIPPING with a 60 day return period (and free return shipping).

I don't down vote, but I dont think its a great deal. they used to sell the refurbished KSM7581 (i.e. physically the same as this one, just with a shorter warranty) for $280 before 15% coupon. close to half the price of the "closeout" price.

That's a good deal on a refurbished mixer. In all fairness though, the difference in warranty for this particular mixer is not trivial. 1 year on a refurbished versus 5 year on a new mixer. Guess it all comes down to what one can afford and justify.

I would try adding the mixer to your cart and walking away from it. Many times KA will send you a 10% off coupon as an enticement to complete your purchase. The promo ends tonight at midnight fwiw. I did that and got a coupon in a couple of hours.

Just received the same one. There is a sticker under it states 500watt 120V AC. I am going to return it.

I don't think that means anything about the motor, that is just stating what input it takes.
Sell to me if you don't want it, sad I missed the deal.

Looks like the deal is back up!

I have had this mixer for few months and I love it. We have five people at home so 7 qt is perfect.
