Agreed. We watched the original movie prior to watching the new one (yesterday). The plot is certainly better and well-thought in the new one, not even talkng about the quality and special effects. Can't say the same about young folks who played new top guns - mediocre at best, nothing to recall.

This also made me to read about Val Kilmer (Tom Cruise looked much better in the movie, though they should be around the same age). Man, his throat cancer and loss of the vocal cords is horrible... Frown
