When I was reading about these a while back, fully multi coated is considered a 'necessity' if you can afford it. This is because these type of straight through binoculars (I don't recall the technical term) has the light pass through prisms, not just angled off mirrors like the older style. The full multi coating allows the light to pass through with much less distortion.

10x is a pretty much the limit for hand held viewing. I regret not having an 8x.

This would be excellent for people interested in astronomy. You can view a ton more than the naked eye, these are low mag enough for handheld viewing, and they have other users if you decide stargazing isn't for you. I strongly recommend a good pair of binoculars before buying a telescope.

Are they better than Celestron Outland X 8x42 binoculars? Those are 25 bucks cheaper and specks-wise have only "Multi-coated" lenses vs "Fully multi-coated" lenses

Read up on them, took a chance and got them. Overall reviews when looking them up are pretty good for binoculars @ their original price point for this level. Most stores still have them @ !59.99, to as much as !75, Celestron's site $169.95. Figured @ this price, actually now $76.19, was definitely a slick deal not worth passing, plus if not happy can always return in 30 days. Thanks op for the heads up.

I have a pair of these and they are pretty solid binoculars. Nothing outstanding but at $76 I'm buying a second set so my wife and I can use them at the same time. They are worlds better than the cheap ones I used previously, and it's pretty easy to spot birds and things with the 8x42.

from camelcamelcamel, the lowest price is 80.99, so 100 is not a good price

These are very solid binoculars. You usually can't find something decent in this range. I use binoculars several steps over these, but would not hesitate to recommend them and am half thinking of picking up a pair to keep in the car.

We bought these for our 30yr old daughter at Christmas for $90.00. Very nice item! We were all impressed with the quality. I just ordered one for the wife at $76.19 plus tax.
Thanks for posting. 😁

Great price. I got them for $85 - 40% off during the holiday AmEx points offer and they're very nice for the money. If you have the AmEx/Discover offer going now you could stack that and get them even cheaper.

Yes. This one has wider angle of view and shorter minimum focus distance.
