Erythritol is the #1 ingredient after water. Google erythritol. "We were looking for compounds in blood that predict risk for experiencing a future heart attack or stroke. The top candidate that kept showing up was erythritol,"

Artificial Sweetener Erythritol's Major Health Risks [clevelandclinic.org]

This was a very large study (over 1000 subjects) and people with high Erythritol usage had twice the heart attack/stroke risk.

If you are young with no issues perhaps its OK. Certainly do not offer a can to anyone with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or others at risk. It stays in your system many days.
Those numbers are off for every one that I personally drink
rockstar 240mg
Monster 140mg
Ghost 200mg

And bang is correct at 300mg.

And I don't drink redbull but a quick search shows it at 80mg
Rockstar comes in multiple different levels of caffeine. 160mg, 240mg and 300 mg.

The fact that I know this off the top of my head probably means I have a issue with energy drinks lol.

Your body produces erythritol naturally. I believe the recent study only looked at extremely sick people and I don't think it looked at or controlled for exogenous erythritol consumption.

I have not read the study personally but saw criticism from reliable sources.

"In general, artificial sweeteners are safe in limited amounts for healthy people, including pregnant people."

"Sugar substitutes also don't raise the level of sugar in the blood."

I'd love to hear why you've decided NOT raising blood sugar is bad for diabetics.

But I know you'll never change your mind since people still believe aspartame causes cancer despite 30+ years of failing to prove that.

Important to note: the author of the study about erythritol was careful to note that it found correlation, not causation.

It may be possible that the people who are most likely to consume erythritol are already unhealthy and are just trying to mitigate their poor health. For instance, I've known more than one obese person who ate far too much in calories for food but would drink diet sodas, as if that would really save them from eating too much food. Yeah, it's better than if they had been drinking high-fructose-corn-syrup-based soda, but the diet soda wasn't a fix, and now it might skew the statistics incorrectly against erythritol if those obese people die of a heart attack and have erythritol in their systems.

After reading that, I find it funny that rockstars don't work too well on me, monsters physically hurt my stomach, and I have to sip on red bulls and bangs because they get me all jittery...I'm starting to think there's something wrong with me O_O;

Maybe try caffeine pills and water to see if it's caffeine or everything else that's the problem.

Consider mixing your own... tea and fruit juice ought to do it, with a caffeine pill.

dollar store rip it is a way better deal. 50 for $50 and multiple flavors sugar and sugar free. Pass on this amazon pisswater.
Which dollar store sells them for a $1? Dollar tree is the only one that I've seen that sells Rip It's. They've haven't been selling anything for a $1 for awhile. It's a $1.25. Even if you order a case from dollar tree online for instore pickup they are still selling them at $1.25 per can.

People taking about caffeine content like it is some energy miracle expensive add on - more you add, better this drink becomes. Caffeine is cheap, 1000mg of lab clear is less than 7 cents in bulk to manufactures. The fear all major manufacturers have is that people have brains to drink 3-4 cans, and with 1100-1200 mg rapidly consumed by a stupid 90-100lbs kid the kid is to end up in ER with seizures and your drink is in the news with a lawyer holding the can on TV. Add some regular meds into the mix that readily interact with caffeine, and you will see why that 300mg is not there.

I find the flavor to be similar to but not as good as a monster zero ultra. Since you can buy those for $29 for 24, I think it's worth a little extra to pay for a better and original drink rather than the Amazon knock off.

Also as a practicing physician, the literature behind the health effects of artificial sweeteners is pretty complex. However if there are negative affects of artificial sweeteners, the facts are very small. It's simply not anything to worry about. If someone wants to skip artificial sweeteners, fine with me. However it's pretty clear that artificially sweetened beverages are much healthier than sugar laden beverages.

Can you share details on this?

Looking at reliable study reviews on Harvard, Mayo Clinic, and FDA etc., there's no support for such a conclusion that it's been found to cause harm.
