Better maybe? https://www.bladehq.com/blog/knife-steel-guide/

I just bought a kizer sheepdog and the quality blew me away compared to the other knives I've gotten in the $50 - $100 dollar price point. This is a steal for $30.

I already have a Bigleiter so I knew the quality of Kizer is good. Used the $5 coupon to get a matching blue titanium bead. $24 for this knife is a very good deal.

If heat treated well, $30 for 154CM is an excellent deal. I would jump on this in a heart beat if I wasn't getting out my budget knife collecting as I was told I have "many knives". In any case, if anyone decides to edc this knife, know your local knife laws since the vansguards blade length is over 3in.

Received blue version today, really like flipper option. It is a bit bigger and heavier than Rat 2. However the detent on Kizer is way smooth than Rat 2. Love it.

Anyone know if this model has the same smooth action as the begleiter II?
My Begleiter 2 is almost too smooth - opens effortlessly and the blade easily falls shut from any position. The Rapids is not quite as smooth, but still very snappy. The Rapids is also slightly larger/bulkier, but feels more ergonomic in the hand because of that. I think I prefer the slightly sleeker profile and smoother action of the Begleiter 2 for EDC, but the Rapids is also very nice (especially at this price).

I received my Black/Green Micarta Rapids today. Super nice action. If not as smooth as the new Beglieter, it is very nearly so. Love the micarta. I will buy more if it hits this price again for sure. I think it is worth the regular $60 cost.
