Wow, over 300 comments for $10 chicken. I don't see why.

On a different note, I was just at a local shopping center in California and the parking lot was full like I've never seen it. Previously, the parking lot being half full is the most Ive ever seen it. It was crazy out there and I've lived here for over 30 years.

KFC quality has gone down drastically. I tried multiple outlet and each one of them has something missing. Some are salty , some are refried multiple times. Hit and Miss now a days. definitely better options out there

KFC has been going downhill for years. You get what you pay for. Chicken tenders are actually half of a real tender but you pay full price. Since you are gonna be using the dipping sauce for flavor, just buy a huge bag and get 3 lbs worth at costco.

The chicken itself has no flavor and most of the flavor is in the breadcrumb outside. rip that skin off and the chicken is bland. Compare this to any other chicken like Churches, Chick fil-A or Popeye's, and you'll taste the difference. https://www.tasteofhome.com/artic...d-chicken/

The original chicken recipe now has enough grease to give you a heart attack

People like what they like but to me KFC is the worst national chain for fried chicken in my opinion.

Now remember I'm talking national chains.

Popeye's is VASTLY superior in every way.

Also if you have a Jollibee near you I will tell you to go now and get the spicy and the Jollibee spicy chicken sandwich is better than any of these other chains spicy chicken sandwich.
How about Wingstop?

That's only assuming they would have otherwise gotten those margins. Advertisements are always more for long-term benefit than short-term gain. People learn about the (sometimes new) location, decide that they (hopefully) like their food/value enough to go back regardless of promo, decide whether they appreciate the customer service/atmosphere, etc. Companies wouldn't invest into advertisements like these if they didn't profit from them.
exactly, Habit offered free burger by installing their app, I didn't even know they'd opened two locations near me because I only went to the first one very far away in bay area many years ago. I've went to both new locations a few times buying their family packs since then because I love their pepper counter

My local subway operator says those deals are crushing him. Corporate doesn't care because they sell him the ingredients and basically give them away at cost leaving him just the chips and drinks for profit.
And yet deals like this are the only reason I'll show up. Consumers are more price concious than ever. I think the market is killing him more than the franchise, but both are probably bad.

I wonder if it's other areas of the business that cause this. Our local Subway seems to have a lot of waste compared to the one inside our Walmart and it doesn't seem like the workers care. Add in the occasional freebie and all of that adds up quick when your profit margin is already razor thin for a promo deal to begin with.
If you were paid less than one Subway Sandwich per hour of work, would you care?

KFC originated in Utah.
Colonel Sanders officially started KFC when he turned 40, back in 1930. He bought a roadside motel in Corbin, Kentucky, and started serving his southern style chicken. But Colonel Sanders didn't perfect his unique blend of 11 herbs and spices that are still used today, and still top secret, until 1939.

Well I'll be!

Utah did not come up in my search the first time.

https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/u...ountry-ut/

And you all are correct that today's KFC does NOT taste the same or as good as it did 30-40 years ago - that's for sure. It's more like 5.5 herbs and spices nowadays.

I actually ate at his wife's restaurant back in tbe 1970's and it was excellent. Not sure how it is today.

I got this last night and it was decent enough. Extra crispy bucket of mixed plus I made a couple packs of instant mashed potatoes for a $12 dinner that fed 3 comfortably.
whats next? order a small orange chicken at panda express then make a couple packs of instant noodles to feed a family of 3 then call its a $4 family meal?

I got the 30 dollars deal that includes 8 pc chicken, 8 pc tenders, 3 large sides and 4 biscuits. I don't think the tenders are worth it as they're really small. It's better to use 2 8-pc deals and 2 sides for 30 dollars.. it's better value!
