Seemed like an excellent deal to visit the big island. For 7 days traveling end of May it was $4,500 for wife and I. We found Southwest flights were cheaper so I booked those on the side using points I had from my holiday Southwest flight cancellations but you have options to include flights. It was about $800 more before I removed flights and did my own.

Daily breakfast for two (per room)
Daily alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for two (per room)
Nightly three-course dinner for two (per room)

Waived mandatory daily resort fee (per room)

What dates are you seeing this price? Also, makai tower is well worth the extra money vs ocean tower

Stayed here few years back, it's nice hotel+resort. They have cool way to travel to hotel towers from the main lobby by boat or small tram

$4500 for a week? That's approaching Grand Cayman levels, I think I'd pay a bit more for a more exclusive island.

It clearly says complementary daily parking. Also, breakfast and dinner is not all inclusive, unless I'm missing something.

I spent 10 days on the big island with a car. Recommend using points. It was actually cheaper to buy points and use them than pay for rooms. This Hilton is for people who want a comfortable if not real experience. I did not like it that much, although my kids did. I much preferred the lushness on the other side of the island, the Volcano National park and the upscale resorts further north from this Hilton. I suppose for families, it would be enjoyable, like disneyland.

So would you call it unreal? Virtual? Surreal?

$55 a day for PARKING!?!??? What Da Faq!!
Hotels have been ripping people off on parking fees for decades man. The more expensive the hotel , the more expensive the parking fee. It's a racket, but it's extremely common. You gotta pay to play. It's everywhere, not just Hawaii or Hilton. We have a booking in a Loews hotel in New Orleans next weekend and the parking is $50 per night.

He's saying it felt "inauthentic," would be my guess.

I mean… what is truly authentic these days anyway? You're in Hawaii. Our perspective of authentic is just what some designer somewhere in a big high rise decided we should think.

Thats crazy!!! Whats funny is when we fly out of Miami we use a hotel for long term parking with a free airport shuttle, instead of the airport because its a lot cheaper almost half!?

Nah, not on the Big Island. There's definitely a few authentic-er experiences to be had there

Unless they changed it back, they now just give you 2 vouchers for like $12 instead of the breakfast. It was great back when they did give the breakfast for gold members.
Hilton-wide there's just a credit to the bill. It is $18 a day for resorts per person for the first two adults, at least for Diamond members. Looking on my receipt from this resort about 5 months ago, each day I have the charges from different venues on-site, then a ($36) which deducts that amount. It didn't matter who actually used it or where. This has been going on at least since 2021. I think hotels is $15, and resorts are $18. This is for full-service Hiltons, not places that include breakfast or even Hilton Garden Inn.

Yes and no. For US Hiltons this is the case. Internationally you still get breakfast. Just stayed at Conrad Singapore and Bangkok and both had free buffets or lounge breakfast for diamonds.

TBH in the US Hilton status is weak, but internationally it is still good. It used to be GREAT but seeems like post covid upgrades are stingier internationally.

Stayed here a couple of months ago. It was okay, but it is essentially a small city it is so big. I enjoy quiet beachside condos more, and for the price per night, have been able to find them.

Expect resort prices for everything. Like $50 for pasta. This area of the island is all lava rock expect for artifical beaches you can walk to (15 min walk).
