I saw the same thing, turning on voice command bricks it and 5lb weights fall off during use. Would not recommend these to anyone. Easier than PowerBlock but not worth it if they don't work.

"Smart dumbbells" looks like a complicated solution to something that was not a problem.
Not everything has to be Alexa-enabled.

I enjoyed the video where they explain how to reboot/reset it if someone pulls them from the cradle while it's switching the weights.

I bought these on Prime Day of last year. Do not get these. I've had the base break down and replaced 4 times already. The current base I have is so finicky that I almost never adjust the weights anymore. Total waste of money.

I also bought these, and for the approximate $200 price point they work great as electronic dumbbells, however they absolutely do not work with the app and Alex. Once you try to connect them to wifi, it makes the weights unusable (literally).

I've been using them multiple times a week for months (ranging from 10-45lb) without issue after my first attempt to connect them (and I wasted several hours and also tried to connect them to my wifi while also blocking their outside internet access but all was a failure).

Basically what works is the base, the weights, and the adjustment knob. Do not synch with app or Alexa.

If that works for you, then great, otherwise do not get them for their "smart" feature.

As an owner of a nautalis set for 15+ I completely understand the novelty of not needing a full rack of dumbbells, but being so lazy you need electronics to select the weight for you seems like an exersize in dissonance. Plus it's one hell of a paperweight when it loses power or board gets fried.
