While not as painful as legos, I can confirm that these blocks hurt to step on as well.

Yes, you've correctly identified that wood is, in fact, not magnetic.

I'll provide an different opinion: this is very easy to play with your child and I've played with mine with these blocks for many hours.

Okay price, but if you can wait, they go lower. I bought three sets last November for $17.85 plus tax for all three sets.

I usually wait until "Black November" to buy lots of toys to donate to Toys for Tots. This way they get a lot more toys for the money I spend each year.

While I love the idea of an even lower price, our grandson is coming into the sweetspot age for these blocks. Not gonna sweat a few $ vs enjoyment time with him. And OK, I'll admit I might play with the blocks myself. ;-)

Our area Targets are all showing out of stock so went to Amazonā€¦ where the combo of this block set plus the Shape Sorting Cube for $23.36 was too tempting to resist, even if the shape cube is a bit early for him. Currently shows the blocks don't arrive until mid April.
