I've used this stuff for years, and really like it. You know it's working because water beads up on the car for several weeks after it's use and a "waxed" surface repels some dirt. It's very concentrated, so a jug lasts a long time.

It's like a super thin layer but there is definitely something compared to if you were to use straight Dawn to wash your car. I wouldn't count on it to be equivalent to an actual wax or sealant coat.
