    This is a convection oven(old tech) that has been branded as an air fryer(new fad) because they are very close to the same thing. As a convection oven it works pretty well. Compared to proper air fryers it lacks. One critical issue: The "airfry basket" can't be used for anything that drips... ie Meat.

    This thing also releases A LOT of steam out of the top front of the unit. I've never seen anything like it in a countertop oven or air fryer. It's at minimum disconcerting, at worse it may be damaging the unit and the surrounding equipment.

    Breville is a high end brand but I'm not sure this product is high end in function.

    I had a similar experience and returned mine for a smaller unit that was better as an air fryer.
