This compared to the deal a few days before?

What material are the posts? Couldn't seem to find info on that.

That was a slick deal, no longer available (now $999).

Today's sale gazebo is slightly larger, brown instead of black, a different roof design (as it's rectangular rather than square). Both gazebos have steel posts.

Thank you so much!

For some reason, the posts/pillars/framework looked wooden to me! So this gazebo is also all powdered coated steel? Tempting but no reviews. I wait till someone posts his impressions!

Yeah, it looks like wood to me, too, yet the specs say steel. I really like the wood look.

From the close-up image it looks like steel that's painted to look like wood, kind of that "brushy" look that you see on some aluminum furniture. Probably not as sturdy as the $1200-$1600 ones at Costco but it looks quite nice for the price and hopefully the steel frame would last longer than a similar wooden one.

Talked to an agent. She said the posts are steel frame. Looking at the assembly video, it seems that they are indeed steel frame with a wood finish.

Man, all these gazebo deals have me on the verge of buying now/thinking later (lol) but our yard is a mess right now - it's all "under construction" with dirt being excavated. I haven't been able to do anything because of all the rain we keep getting here in SoCal. The plan is to put in a flagstone patio...eventually hahaha. The neighbors up the hill have something that looks a lot like this one. I'm just not sure how much space we would have in our yard to be able to put one of these up though. While there's a good amount of yard space our yard has some weird angles and it's not really "large" in any one given spot. Putting this up in our backyard would probably make things feel really tight. Although, it would be nice to have a fully-covered area so I can smoke and grill. We have an alumawood pergola currently and I have been looking into attaching some polycarbonate roofing panels to that. I'm thinking that's probably the way to go in our case vs one of these gazebos. If we didn't have the pergola I'd probably want this for sure.

Would it be possible or recommended that I mount this to a raised wooden deck? Only concern is the higher gusts of wind of 40mph I saw last week.

This one is the exact same model #, yet it is one foot shorter. Quirky

I'm leery about putting a steel construction pergola on the deck -- I just don't trust the resistance to rust on a cheap product (relative to aluminum, for instance) like this one, unless you're in a dry climate. Every time I've had something with steel, it's rusted in a few years or even within a year.

Personally, I'll probably wind up with pressure treated wood for a pergola (if I do it at all), but the cost is going to be significantly higher. Properly maintained PT wood will last quite a few years, though, and won't be affected by normal wind gusts to any degree. Of course, my neighbor was just saying how useless he finds his pergola and wishes he didn't have one. Big Grin
