It'll keep going down until it ends up in Goodwill about 10 years from now.

Prices are dropping because new cards are coming very soon. Nvidia 4070 launches April 13 (avoid it at all costs) and AMD Radeon RX 7800, RX 7700, and RX 7600 tipped for a June launch.

Quote from vapor916 :
RX 7800XT 16GB – $999(6900XT)$650
RX 7800 16GB – $650(6800XT)$550
RX 7700XT 16GB – $579(6800) $450
RX 7600XT 12GB – $479(6700XT) $350
RX 7600 8GB – $379(6600XT) $250
RX 7500 8Gb – $329(6600) $200

Crazy how greedy companies are. These are rebranded rdna2. Don't even look at rtx with gimped VRAM.

I copied from the link and added my own twist but if the 7800XT is $699 then just buy the $800 7900XT.

7800XT = 6900XT at best but should cost no more than $650
None of those 7000 series cards are out and performance is unknown. Also the 7900XT is $800. So how is the 7800XT $1,000?

Give me a 4090 or amd equivalent for $500 and I'll bite. Until then my r9 290 gonna be booting up day after day!

Price drops are partially due to the mining crash, resulting in a drop in demand for cards. Definitely not because manufacturers are realizing their greedy ways, that you can count on.

The xx90 series largely replaced the Titan class of cards which were never even close to the 500 price point
