Been watching Lectric XP / Lite for about a year now for the right time to buy, but pulled the trigger on this one instead.

FYI the additional $25 off is currently still in effect if paying via credit/debit or PayPal, applied at final checkout.

Total $675 delivered with aforementioned coupon code NNNEP2Pro6

Thanks!

for $700, this seems like a closeout sale. you won't find the company again when you need support.

From the article:

"When you're buying an e-bike or other micromobility device, try to find what battery comes stocked with it, Pecht said. Does the maker of the device state where the battery is sourced from? Is the battery made by a reputable manufacturer? Experts also suggest that consumers look for batteries that have a UL certification."

I own the older model ordered directly from ENGWE for $950 two years ago. Ship well as one piece and simply unfold to use. Even though it's fold-able, but it's heavy so it don't even go on my tiny hitch. So I only use it on an off, not as heavy as my non-electric bike. So far so good.
IMO the fold mean it need to use heavier metal and add more stuff for that folding feature. Naturally it is heavier. Add in the battery too.

I'm not crazy about small wheels. Regular size is better.

Yikes! Guess I should store my e-bikes locked in a shed outside and away from my home. Wowza
Same recommendation for electric car. All of them suggest you store in the garage. I asked the firefighter and they said with electric car they can't stop the battery fire. They would let it burn out cause they can't do anything about it. They would need a lake to contain the battery fire and even that it burn for weeks.

Proper charging of lithium ion batteries is key. No risk of fire if you don't always charge to 100%

Before you try and rebuttal, do your research, albeit an extinguisher for liquid chemical fires tends to be in the $100s. That's the reason why your fire department wouldn't act, it's too costly, they have to pay the workers

Can't decide whether or not to pull the trigger. The jetson haze which is $550 after tax but you can return anytime to Costco vs this which is $675 shipped but with annoying return options.

They're not remotely comparable bikes. Assuming you still pay sales tax, the haze will be around $600 delivered. It's smaller, weaker, less range, no front suspension. For $675, the engwe is far better value by a longshot. Only drawbacks are the weight and the hassle if you need to return for any reason.

This is a no-name manufacturer that is not widespread, at least in the US. If you buy this product you might not be able to readily get replacement parts, if at all, and the safety standards on the battery might be subpar. Another consideration is where are the wires connected, they do they connect into the frame or do they have a connection wire port, which makes it easy to replace a wire. This model looks like the wires go straight into the frame, which will make fixing a wire a big pain the butt.

I decided to go for this deal. I was in the market for a fat tire electric bike, folding, with over 750 wott motor and for tall riders and this seems like it will work. I was leaning towards Lectric xp options for $1000 or $1600 for the premium. This seems like a really great deal for a tall friendly folding electric ebike. I plan to use it to commute, i just moved and live on a farm with floodplains that i have to travel through the woods partially so i am hoping this will work out. If not it can be folded and put in the car!

we'll for safety, yeah. but most of these e-bikes are treated poorly and could have a punctured battery. if you treat them normally, nothing should happen. same with a phone or electric car
