    Yes, this is commonly used by surveyors. If you're hiking/exploring deep in the woods, it's a good way to track your progress to back track and not get lost.

    Measuring tape does not have adhesive and neither does this tape. A number of the negative reviews thought tape always has adhesive, which is of course wrong.
