Some of the reviews say this thing only lasts 6 months. The website says the warranty is only 45 days. Is there an additional warranty or is it truly only 45 days?

Multiple people including myself beg to differ almost 8 months strong as I mentioned on the first page with the rechargeable batteries I put into it.

Peoples who units are dying are either using cheap batteries, or they have a poorly installed deadbolt that does not have a smooth glide forcing the cylinder to work harder to compensate.

People using cheap batteries, I use rechargeable (even though it says not to) and mine has been going strong for well over 8 months now and still battery indicator is not on to indicate low battery. Daily it sees a minimum of 4-6 unlock/locks, but we also have a perfectly installed bolt so there is no drag.

Mine is on a external back door and it has survived the Chicago winter without a problem. I would still make sure there is an overhang above it though, as water/rain/snow on the finger print sensor will cause miss reads same if your fingers are wet.

Its IP54 rated which means it can handle the occasional rainstorm, but not really recommended for heavy rains. The enclosure is pretty well sealed so I think for the price you will have a hard time finding something better if these features is what you are looking for.

bought this last year on black friday and still works fine, no issues with dying batteries. I use duracell powerboost batteries from costco. if u have dry cracked fingers like me it occasionally wont read. also finger oils get it kinda greased up so wiping it down with my shirt helps too 😅
