I use this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

Which is about $0.59/use vs. this which is $1.08/use. The Affresh indicates to use once a month and the Active says twice a month, which would actually make the Active more expensive per year. I can't say I see a difference between the 2 (I've used Affresh before). Active touts itself as a family company (can't say how true that is) and they make disposal and dishwasher cleaners as well.
or just use vinegar
Well my washing machine literally has a compartment for bleach so I'm assuming it's OK to put bleach in there

Using citric acid and OxiClean seems to work really well for me, but I have to say for the price it's not a bad option.

Do not use bleach in a stainless steel dishwasher or a dishwasher that contains stainless steel parts, as bleach will damage it. Also, do not use bleach at the same time you clean it with baking soda or vinegar.

I was under the impression we were talking about the washing machine for clothes, not the dishwasher. I use bleach and my clothes washer which is Erica correctly. In the manual it states you can do that monthly. I've had it for 3 years and I leave the door open after every load until the next load goes in. I have several issues or any visible scum

We have used these tablets with good results from time to time, but a repair person suggested buying a tub of OxyClean and scooping a bit of powder into the washer once a month. It's more affordable and works similarly.
