I want to upgrade my SSD in my HP Pavilion laptop, model HP 15-EH0090WM, but I have no idea how to tell which generation of NVMe it will support, or what's currently in it without taking it apart. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

I got you Pham, I looked up on HP website and this model does support NVMe drives and in this youtube video you can see it's a gen 3 drive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvtqNjd-RIU

Keep in mind these are qlc drives. So compare to the intel 670p.
Imho, at the a similar price I'd go for tlc drive like the mp34.
Qlc should be about 75% the cost of a tlc drive since it has 75% the flash cells.

good reply. i generally just search the web or ask an AI bot; lately it has been just as easy to crack open the case to double check my hunches et al.

a Gen 4 drive could work just as well correct? it may cost more, but it can be passed on to another laptop in the future i spose.

Correct a gen 4 is backward compatible. Basically, buying a Gen 4 gives you somewhat a future proofing purchase

i had a best buy gift card which is the only reason i went with this, intel is probably the better buy.

side note, these bestbuy gift cards dont hold up at all. mine looks like crap and ive only had it a few months in the wallet
