Gotta say Patagonia stands behind their products. I just had a situation where I badly ripped (6-7 inches) a down jacket, called them up, $5 to repair including shipping , got it back in perfect condition in 6 weeks .

Just noticed that when you click the OP's hyperlink, it takes you to rebatesme, and then to the product page — is this how posters get paid? If we click that link, the cash back goes to the OPs rebatesme account?

That's a great question. I thought Slickdeals took all referral link commissions? Have I been doing this wrong all these years? 🤣

I had the same thing happen to me, except they no longer made the product and gave me full credit for the price of the jacket 4 years after I bought it.

Patagonia products (at least the fair majority) aren't made in America. So the hike up in price doesn't make a whole lot of sense, other than as I've said the logo.
Did you know it's possible to make things with good quality outside of America?

I have a few Patagonia items, and they are very well constructed. Their list prices are kind of crazy, but I've managed to score a few nice pieces from REI sales at more reasonable prices.

Great company and great products. At non sale prices it is beyond my price point. But at these sale prices, absolutely!

I have T shirts that are warmer than my Patagonia sweater.

They're ok for working inside but as soon as wind hits you it cuts right through. All of my sweaters are warmer than these. Carhartt, Nike, DC, Columbia, Duluth Trading Company, Champion, etc.

I love Patagonia and have a closet full. But this particular one, not good. The first time I wore it I looked like I had gotten in a fight with a cat. I used a lent roller the entire day. Washed again and same thing happened when I wore it the next two times. The fuzz stuff is terrible. Returned this shedder.

What's a 'microdini'? Wrong answers only please.
It's what happens to your zucchini after too much time in the pool

Of course I do. My point was that the price doesn't justify the majority of their clothing products being manufactured outside the US. So the fact that's it "well constructed" is great, but there's another company out there using the same manufacturer getting the same quality products (without the logo) and charging less. Patagonia owns zero of the clothing factories they use.
