I had the same thing happen to me, except they no longer made the product and gave me full credit for the price of the jacket 4 years after I bought it.
I have a few Patagonia items, and they are very well constructed. Their list prices are kind of crazy, but I've managed to score a few nice pieces from REI sales at more reasonable prices.
They're ok for working inside but as soon as wind hits you it cuts right through. All of my sweaters are warmer than these. Carhartt, Nike, DC, Columbia, Duluth Trading Company, Champion, etc.

Of course I do. My point was that the price doesn't justify the majority of their clothing products being manufactured outside the US. So the fact that's it "well constructed" is great, but there's another company out there using the same manufacturer getting the same quality products (without the logo) and charging less. Patagonia owns zero of the clothing factories they use.
