I have a Hisense '50 and I hate the google TV, but the picture isn't too bad. Anyone have any experience with this TV? Rtings gave it a 6.9 but I have seen some TVs that had around that rating from them that are good enough.

I just bought it. It's good, especially for the price. The Google tv is a bit slow, but your can just use your own dongle. Can't really complain about it at this price and it's an upgrade for me. I'm upgrading from an old Samsung i bought back in 09.
Costco had this same one for about 250 and are running buy 2 get $100 off.
Cheaper at Costco $259.99 plus if you use the Buy More Save More Promotion right now it ends up being $159.99. This OP is NOT. a Slickdeal. See for yourself.
How are you getting $159.99? Even if you buy 5, it only averages $180/TV (($260*5-400)/5)
Oh right, taking the average you are correct. Still. Buying even one without the promotion is still a better deal. Also if you use the Costco Credit card, you get 5 years warranty.

You are Incorrect as the $30 is for Setup.
From Costco website: "Delivery Only (set up and installation NOT included). Setup is available for $30.00".
Plus Costco warranties this TV for 3 years as the other retailers give 2 years.
I recently bought this 55" and the 65". Received $100 off for buying both. The picture and sound looks great for the price. It's not a high end TV but can't beat it at this low of a price.

Not sure I would buy this brand. I feel paying more for real brands like LG or Sony makes sense
Hisense blows many lg models away. Minus the oled tier, of course. It's truly relative, and Hisense has come a long way. I bought a 65-inch u7g, and it's been the best purchase pound for pound price wise I've ever bought. I bought a 55-inch lg, and I hate it. I really like the google android tv operating system. It's smooth and easy to navigate. The remote makes sense in terms of navigation, too. Bottom line, don't sleep on Hisense. If you can get a high-end sony for a little more, then it might be worth it. Otherwise, they make good tvs. Now, I'd stay away from TCL.
I have a 43" model that I bought last year as my primary PC monitor. For me, it is very nice - I like IPS screens. However, I am getting some burn in issues. But it is a low end model, and didn't expect perfection. I'm still very happy with my purchase.
