Update: Wow, finally got it to show up as a Promo, then it auto-removed itself when I left the Promos list page - disappointed.
Update: Well, keep trying. I finally got it to go through on the app. The trick is to allow the error code to come up (UNKNOWN), then exit out of the cart, and then reload the cart. When it refreshed, I saw much to my delight that the promo was properly applied.
