How does Walmart+ compare to Amazon Prime?
Walmart isn't the most reliable in my area, nothing like Amazon. But at the same time Amazon doesn't offer grocery like Walmart does. They aren't interchangeable, at least not until Walmart gets its act together. Walmart needs the years of infrastructure investment Amazon has had before one can make the full switch. You just have to hope Walmart is actually making that investment.

Yeah, Amazon is much, much better for most items. BUT, if you need basic groceries delivered (we use it on vacation AirBnBs for example) it 's totally worth it.

I was not impressed with Walmart Plus because free delivery from store always screws up my order by missing items.

I feel like they had a huge policy change between the last two times I had a membership. Originally I remember them auto-substituting Great Value brand for name brand when GV isn't available but matching the GV price. Now you have to waste time going through very item and picking out what substitutes you'd specifically allow and if somethings out of stock you'll always pay more. And stuff is way way more often out of stock nowadays.

I cannot say enough good things about Walmart+ with the InHome add on. It's delivered by Walmart employees who have passed background checks and there's NO TIPPING! I usually have the same guy deliver my groceries and he's worked for Walmart for 36 years. I order about twice a week and save enough on tipping to more than cover the additional cost. Kroger Boost is great, too.

Even with membership, minimum 35 for deliver from store or pickup. Ridiculous policy.

Walmart has been destroying amazon on delivery. Many items are delivered on the same day. I ordered things that suppose to be 2 days and they may get to you in one hour.

Walmart pays their drivers $3 per delivery which is ridiculously low.

Walmart+ has a chance to catch Amazon Prime because it's in-store goods with same day delivery sometimes, along with their many B&M locations in many places around the world. Their returns are much, much easier too, just bring it into the store. Prime delivery has been terrible these past years, it used to be 2-day Prime Shipping, now it's atleast 4-5 days minimum, sometimes 7 days....

In that respect Walmart+ is gaining on Amazon Prime. They need to lower the membership price a bit for me to switch over. Amazon's prices on goods and availability are still slightly better than Wally though.

I don't see the 5 extra free months on mine. It was also 57 but it indicates renewal starts at March 30, 2024
I haven't signed up yet but this is exactly what I was wondering about. It says "5 months free" when signing up for an annual plan. To me that should mean the renewal will be August 30, 2024.

No comparison.

Walmart - almost impossible to navigate website, no way to get a properly itemized billing statement, a tiny fraction of the products offered by Amazon, difficult returns policy.
I haven't experienced any of those issues. I find their website is easy to search for specific items or just to browse a category. I have viewed itemized receipts multiple times (I don't remember if they email you an itemized receipt or if I see it in my account on their website).

I haven't compared the amounts of products listed on Amazon vs. Walmart, and it wouldn't surprise me Amazon has more items, but I can get Walmart delivery the same day and Amazon seems to take up to a week for a lot of items even though I have a DC 10 minutes from the house and Prime.

Returns can be done in store (I know, defeats the purpose) but I had an issue with an item the other day and was refunded immediately through an easy-to-use online portal. No return required.
