Pretty expensive offering — a quick search of short haul west coast routes appears to be more expensive than flying.

Seen enough Flix buses pulled over with shredded tires in CA on various highways that I would never let a loved one use them. Anecdotal but definitely scary.

First, they don't really do these $4.99 "gimmie" fares like Megabus does. Megabus purposefully sells a limited amount of tickets for $1 depending on route and time of year. My first Megabus "$1" trip was from Chicago to New York, which unsurprisingly they don't do anymore.

I've taken Flixbus three times in 2022, and can say all of them were safe rides. I went from FLL->MIA on them, they departed five minutes early (before I got there) so I got a small refund and a coupon, had to buy the next bus ticket online as the next bus came in because my old ticket didn't work.

MIA->FLL was fine.

PHL->NYC was great. Had a good conversation with the bus driver, but part of me felt like he was fuming that I didn't end up tipping him afterwards. In fairness, he did cut across several lanes of traffic and wouldn't lay off the horn, in true New Yorker fashion.

I have done multiple short west coast rides in past 1 year on Flixbus and never had any issue. It is no frill ride and has wifi onboard, but safe. I would use their service again.

(I have no/zero affliction with them, just sharing my experience)

Fun fact: Flixbus was buying Greyhound back in 2021 https://techcrunch.com/2021/10/21...-78m-deal/

I've used their 5$ fare from Houston to MS back in 2019. Don't know if that fare is still available.

We met a family member who did a one way Phoenix to Flagstaff and they had a great experience. It was about $15 and $4 of that was the "premium" seat selection at the front of the bus.

No problem. I just ran a quick itinerary for 4/15 and the same trip now (on Flixbus,not Greyhound) leaving the same airport station is ~$32 ($22 fare/$6 seat/$4 fee). I don't recall the "service fee" charge and I know the overall price was less last year.

My only experience with them is they're supposed to have a stop in Olympia, WA. Well the boarding time came and went. Found out they didn't even stop there. Wasted a lot of time and money because of it, including the price of tickets for Flix. Fortunately after LOTS of bugging them, they finally gave a refund. Definitely have a bad enough experience, that I wouldn't deal with them again.

I used flixbus when i was in Tucson Az traveling to Phoenix before covid times. Minus a broken AC incident, it was much better than greyhound or shuttles at the time.

I took one trip domestically on flixbus from LA to San Francisco. It was good.

I've traveled extensively all over Europe on FlixBus and it is pretty amazing. To be honest, the price cannot be touched
