People are super hard to please.
If you have one that doesn't tools for adjustments, people will complain that it is takes too much force to adjust positions.
That being said, get something that can adjust without a tool, just know they will be stiff and require force to move.

I bought one similar to this one a few weeks ago. Once you tighten the nuts right, you can adjust the angles and the positions by hand. It will stay in that position. However, I would not recommend this if you are adjusting the stand multiple times A DAY.

the adjustment looks better on the type I purchased - which is marketed by several 'different' companies.
this one seems to have hex key tightening and not as robust.
The one I purchased is my favorite desktop laptop and tablet with the right case stand.
considering this one at sale price to see if it's as good
Mine listed as 17" also - but this doesn't really work - would say 15" or smaller laptop.due to pad not being big enough surface to support big laptop well. I have used it a few times carefully with 17"
Also cooling due to being aluminum is a joke -- it's is better flow than being on a hard surface but of course it's not going to magically be a giant heat sink to dissipate heat
