The second post applies to all Red Plus / shucked drives. Basically they are all 7200 rpm drives but the firmware caps the speed to "5400rpm level". This is not new to this model.
However, from a warranty/performance perspective, if you don't need an external drive, I think the 20TB Seagate X20 at $290 is a better deal given the 5 year warranty and not having to deal with shucked warranty annoyances.
