1-foot extension cords are your friend. Buy multiple, they're handy for power strips, etc

There's nothing wrong with using power strips. Just make sure the total load doesn't exceed the max of the unit, or it'll shut off

Honestly for a simulated sine wave with a pretty short runtime, not seeing a great value here.

Does it REALLY matter if it is a "simulated sine wave"?

For sensitive electronics (which is what is going to be plugged into this), yes.

I've seen extended outages kill power supplies for routers, modems, etc. Some PCs with high efficiency power supplies won't even run off one.

At this price you're near what you can get a cyberpower with true sine wave and more capacity for. Granted I trust the APC name a bit more than cyberpower, but I would never use a simulated wave UPS. I have a 20 year old APC true sine wave that is still going strong and puts out cleaner power on battery than when running of utility power (got bored one day and cracked out the oscilloscope).

Hey, YMMV, and if it is for the "occasional outage" it is definitely better than none at all, but the runtime is pretty low on this unit too, probably only a single small battery in it, essentially the same as the units that go on sale for $30 to $40 from time to time.

I read that plugging a power strip(not a surge protector) into the clean side of one of these isn't recommended. How do you safely deal with the crowded receptacles on the UPS itself? Things like my modem and router use bricks, which take up at least 2 slots each.
As long as you're not using a surge protector (which can potentially mask load issues), there's nothing wrong with using a power strip, from a purely electrical (technical) perspective. You just need to make sure you don't overload the UPS -- but that's no different than the built-in outlet precaution, its just potentially easier to overlook with the extra outlet capacity being added with the strip.

APC makes and sells PDU's which are commonly used for this very purpose, while also providing 'enterprise-minded' functionality like remote management over IP, monitoring/alerting, visual display to help manage the total load placed on the PDU (and, by extension, the UPS), etc.

Power Strip = ok, Surge Protector = be aware of the potential issues

A surge protector when not being hit with a surge is just a power strip. What load issues would it mask?

Just late to the party. There was plenty of stock available when the thread opened. As long as this deal is still available in some stores, it should remain active.

I believed $10 in stores pick up discounts expired several days ago, even they have stock in store, no one will able to get it for $88.

They only say that to prevent you from overloading it. As long as you keep the capacity in mind, no problem plugging in power strips, short extensions, "threefers" etc. It will warn you if you exceed the capacity anyway (at least older ones did).
This one does too. I tried to run a GPU benchmark alongside a CPU stress test and was greeted by loud beeps because the load exceeded 600W. Haven't had that happening in real usage scenarios, but some games did hit 600 for a moment. I should've gotten the 1500 version

Look for a genuine CSB battery, most of the generic ones being sold are junk. Even B&B which used to be ok are hit or miss these days. The official APC batteries are just CSB with an APC sticker on them for a much higher price.
