Not the guy who posted but the idea is that you buy it from wherever there is stock at full price then go to the location that has it on clearance (find that out through brickseek). Then go to customer service and say something like I want to change the card I purchased this with and then they do a return, it gets put into their inventory which has the clearance price and then they ring it up for you to buy so you get that stores lower price.

Thanks OP got mine this morning in Silicon Beach. Drove home opened it and the spray tip feral was smashed so it back to HD. BS said four in stock the front wall of the store had a huge Roybi section so might have some there but I kinda of got the last two in garden section

Gotcha I finally understand it now.

I do have a unique situation where one town has 12 not clearance and the next town over has zero and clearance, I have to call and ask for the pricing though to make this stick.

No one ever explained it to me before lol.

Found 3 for the fam. Brickseek was right for once. It said 3 in stock and price was "Clearance".

Had to get someone to grab them from the top rack, there were no labels or price on them.
