Given what things cost these days, it's a fair price. Just because it's not for every family's needs , does not mean that it won't work for some people on a budget . Honestly , you could pay this much for shipping / delivery of a sofa elsewhere. It will not be too comfortable or stand up to heavy use , but is fine if your budget is limited .

I usually have like a padding or one of those camper cots to make it more comfy. I can never seem to find a futon that are comfortable than a japanese one…and they sleep on the floor with their futons.

I gave away my last walmart futon after it sat in my basement for about 7 years having been used a few hours in total. It held up great being unused, however it's about as comfortable as sitting on a structurally stable cardboard box.

Can this be an ok option for a few hours at night watching TV or gaming? Or am I better off spending more for an actual couch? Not looking to spend more than $200-300 or so

A $32 memory foam topper from Wal mart does wonders for this thing when being used as a bed.
Add some 100% cotton microbe protection sheets. A urinary blockage pad, a weighted blanket, Perfect pillow and for under $200 you can have a bed that is more comfortable then Motel 6.
If the in laws complain, then offer them Motel 6 near the rail yard

Bought one last year. If you dont sit upright it will just slide you off. I am 150lbs and not sure if its the weight or got bad piece bottom spring broke within 4months

Oh. This seems to the exact one I have where the legs fell off. The slanted-legs design is a bad idea. Maybe ones with straight legs would work better. Better to invest more in something that lasts.

Original price $399 is such BS. Make no mistake i bought two of these and ended up selling them: they are hard on your bummm and even more uncomfortable to sleep on. It's made of the cheapest cushion possible.
