I have one for my back patio (battery stick-up.) if you can hard-wire it DO IT! The battery one is pretty good.. but there's a longer delay in the recording starting. I'll bet if I ran to your porch to grab a package it would (glitchy) record my back as I run away. The hard wired cams are more responsive since they are "always on" and is probably what you are looking for.
In short- I would not use the battery stick up in this manner only if you can hard wire it.
There's a segment on 60 minutes where they talk about how Ring will give footage to authorities without your permission if you store footage on there servers. Just FYI, it's on YT.
They were on sale last month. $220 for 3 cameras but they also come with outdoor full motion mounts. So $10 for 3 mounts isn't horrible. Obviously at $250, I would pass

How well would something like this work for your front door? The location of my doorbell and a grab bar next to it mean a doorbell cam wouldn't work well for me. I want something I can set up on the porch so I can look at a live view to see who's out there if I hear something, and that would record automatically if someone stole a package off my porch or tried to break in.

Don't buy Ring people. Their privacy policies are scary AF. Just go listen to Linus Tech tips podcast to hear about the BS that Ring has done with peoples footage.

The battery version of this was the biggest piece of shit I have ever owned, don't ever buy it. Don't buy anything battery, always have powered cameras.

Have a 4000sqft house, shall I buy 2 flood light cams or 4-5 ring stick up cams. Please advise. Any other company better than Ring?
Ring stick up cameras are garbage. I have the Wyze cameras and they are stellar. I would get the Wyze floodlight cameras. I have a Wyze V3 on my back deck that also has a floodlight and just am going to replace both with a Wyze floodlight camera. The night vision on the Wyze cams alone in amazing. On the other hand my Ring doorbell has performed flawlessly over the years.
The battery stick up cam was honestly trash from day one, always slow to connect if it even connected at all. It finally just died a month ago and I am done with Ring for cameras now. Unfortunately I have two batteries for it that are useless now. The Blink outdoor cameras were kind of cheap trash but they always connected, they died too or the hub died, not sure, not worth my time to figure it out. My Wyze cams have been stellar though, night vision is top notch.

Woot also has these cameras for $45. It is version 3 though, but they have been great for me. I don't know the difference between the OP and the 3rd version though. Here's the link:
I have at least 10 of these from Woot and they have all been great! I had one that was a refurb that had an issue, but after talking with Ring, they replaced it with a brand new one. I also keep a spare battery so I just swap it out whenever one dies. The batteries take about 8 hours to charge. I also picked up a solar panel $20 on Woot for one of them and that has been great so far. I don't have any complaints about the cameras. I also had the Wyze cameras, but they seemed to have to constantly update, so the Ring have been better for me. Just my experience. But I won't pay full price, I'll get the Woot deals or the refurbs since Ring stands behind them.

I was able to select and check out with a Black Camera. Easier to hide in shadows, or interior book case
You can also put a piece of black electrical tape over the little blue light on the front below the lens if you're trying to hide it. The red lights are for night vision, so don't cover those, but just a tiny piece of black electrical tape will keep you stealthy.
