8gb what a shame, if Asus did. 12gb, it would have been serviceable

I bought this the first time it was on sale, they used glue to attach the hinge to the display and it was broken out of the box.

all windows laptops need at least 16 gb of ram if 8gb at least not solder it so we can upgrade it ourselves ram only cost 25-30 bucks per 8gb
that they want to charge an extra 100 dollars for.

should be less than 16 gb for a laptop soldered should cost 200 bucks or less.

they are useless junk that should be used for linux devices.
8gb is completely worthless chrome books

12gb is mainly because the manufacturers are being cheap but want them to be windows laptops for extra premium

Ours is dead after 9 months of fairly heavy use. Will RMA when we get back to US. Also the case is splitting so they might reject it.

Hard to recommend it.

I've been using the same model since last Summer, it's been pretty great for light everyday use (2 hours a day). Battery life is not super great, that is my main complaint. The screen is really great. I personally haven't been limited by the RAM but it's mostly a web app/steaming machine for us. If you feel like you need something with more horsepower look elsewhere.

You'll find 8GB on more budget focused laptops. Usually a similar model with 16GB (soldered) will jump in price $100-200 or so. When you step into removable memory module laptops, they tend to get thicker and heavier and carry a bit of a premium. For a $400 laptop, I'm expecting 8GB of ram here.

I posted earlier about mine being sent back for warranty. They didn't have an exact model replacement so they offered an Asus ExpertBook P544FA from 2018....... (https://www.asus.com/us/commercia...-p5440fa/) . Hard decline. 1080p displace, lower batter life etc.
