$850 is a ripoff. Why would anyone pay this much for a 11th gen Intel CPU?

Thinkpads are build like bricks and last a long time. If you're considering this machine, you probably don't need super high performance. Why pay an extra $400-500 for a brand new model when you won't really notice the difference in the CPU anyhow? My 3 year old work thinkpad runs a 10th gen that still feels brand new.

How is thinkbook? I have 7 years old thinkpad and i do agree it's a brick. I fall with it in my back while it was in my bagpack. That shit got sandwiched between a concrete side walk and 200 lb hulk and ended up few dead spots on screen but still kept on working.

11th gen CPU. You can get similar price with 12th gen CPU and very soon even the new 13th Gen. This should be at $600 the most.

It's one of the best laptops I've ever used, but I agree, the CPU is outdated. 12th Gen is like almost 100% faster in some areas?

Typing this on a thinkbook. It doesn't have thinkpad or Alienware build quality. It's more the equivalent of a premium HP or Dell ultrabook. I've had it about 15 months, and it's starting to have issues, which isn't that bad considering that it gets moved 15 times a day, every day. In comparison, the LG Grams wouldn't even last a month of this abuse. It also weighs less than 3 lbs.

I'm considering the ThinkPad x14 for or the nano for my next laptop. Also considering the framework 13 but they don't have touchscreens. Probably will go x14 gen 14 or 15 when they're out. A little bigger and heavier, but it has 4k and takes full-size SSDs. No equivalent AMDs are available.

I have never used any other lenovo laptop and macbook air m1 had been my daily driver from first month of launch. I move it multiple times a day on bed and in between table and it is durable except that macOS is mot more time consuming for me to figure out how things work than windows so looking to switch back to windows. Found few options on lenovo outlet for ideapad and thinkbook in $500 range so was thinking how are those. I do have amex 100 cashback on 500 for lenovo, but not sure if outlet will trigger it or not as the website url is the same.

And i am looking 13 or 14 inch form factor with IPS or OLED and preferably QHD 100% sRGB with option for 16gb ram and battery pife of at least 5 to 8 hours. Any recommendations in range of $500 ish?

Thanks, ordered one. Pretty darn good deal for an x1 nano with an 11th gen i7 and 16gb! Right at 2lbs with the touchscreen, I think there's 1.99lbs ones out there without the touch screen. Honestly couldn't care about ssd, I have 2 4.0 4x 1tb's sitting here Smilie Smilie

I think there's an 11th gen i5 (the lower version of i5) for about 100 less without a touch screen, but the linked one looks good. Thank you for making me spend more money haha!

Just keep monitoring deals. For 500 bucks with those specs, it's going to be a mediocre laptop.
