It looks like the difference is USB 3.2 on your link vs USB 3.0 on the OP. Your link also has crummy reviews stating it didn't work or had glitches. The OP has 1,300 reviews, seems reliable, and is made of aluminum vs plastic. I personally went with OP as I don't need this for transfer speeds but just for plugging in devices.

This one removes a displayport and headphone jack, but for about 1/2 the cost, is it just as good for everything else? My main needs are to have the ethernet jack included as well as display HDMI from it.

I've looked at a lot of reviews and Slickdeal comments over the past year on USB hubs. The only brands that are consistent are uGreen and Anker. I have many Anker products and they have become my preferred Amazon brand. I'd rather pay a few more bucks for something that works and a brand that won't disappear overnight and that stands behind their product

i have no comment on the one you are suggesting but i have dozens of anker products and the quality and workmanship of those products are top notch. their customer service is also top notch.

The first thing I want from any hub is more USB 3 ports. With this you get one USB A and one USB C. Fail.

Solid dock at this price. I got one 2 months back, and it has been working well so far. I was fed up with bad docks before, and this one has been a good purchase.

Specs I was able to find for both (563 in this deal, 565 in the link from comment) say they both do 4k @ 60 Hz to a single monitor. Let's see how well cut and paste from the spec PDFs work...

They both seem to use USB-C with Displayport alternate mode. So the USB-C port you plug into needs to have the Displayport logo. And the number/speed of features you get will vary depending on the Displayport version supported by your port.

2x 3.0, 2x 2.0. That covers a mouse/keyboard, and 2 high speed devices. It's a compact dock and costs $50-70, what do you expect? If you want a 4x3.0 you're heading into more expensive territory.

If you're in the market to drive 3 external monitors (the OP only does 2) at 2K 1440P resolution I recently picked up this guy which is a little bit cheaper than the original post, so far working great! Drives my 3 1440p @ 60hz PLUS the Steam Deck screen, so 4 screens in total. It requires your device support DP 1.4 to get the good stuff.
