I wonder how much behind the 7900xtx this deal is. Maybe better to buy the 7900xtx or 7900xt over this deal.
I found an open box 7900 XT for $680 at Micro Center

My current system is intel 9700 , 980ti, 800w power. Will this system be able to handle? Per amd, 900w power is recommended - but upgrading power is too hassle for me. Also cpu might bottleneck performance? I d appreciate if anyone can recommend best bang for buck gpu nowadays. Havnt played pc games last 4 years but RE4 remake made me wanting to upgrade

You should be fine with that PSU (without knowing more details about it). That's a substantial jump from your 980ti.

Thank you! I would wait 6750xt deal if my evga 800w gold cannot hold this monster. I OC my cpu to 5.0g not sure if that would draw signifiant more watt. No other component other than 1t ssd

Part of me regrets paying 500 for a 6800xt now and not spending more on this at this price.. But both cards are still going to blow through just about anything out there. The 6750xt,6800xt and this are (still?) the current value kings imho.

Im glad i didn't pay more for the 7k series or the newer Nvidia cards tho.
I don't game nearly as much as I used to and being able to run everything on ultra settings feels normal quickly, especially when a lot of games these days aren't all that demanding to justify the price of the very very top of they line cards.

It's about 10% behind the 7900xt and the 7900xt is around 15-17% slower than the 7900xtx.

I can't do maths, but for 370 dollars more, I don't think the price to performance is there to justify that increase. However you'll be getting a brand new RDNA 3 card, vs this card which is built on RDNA 2, despite only being in production since May of last year. So it's still a newer card but built on old architecture.

My advice, would be wait for the 7900xtx to drop to 900 or lower and includes free game. That would be the sweet spot.

Just be aware the 6950 XT takes (3x) 8-pin power. Your GPU should have at least (2) separate PCIe lines to run this card - one of which can have the splitter to make it a total of (3) connectors. The GPU wattage rating doesn't 100% guarantee it is physically capable of running the card, so do check with the manufacturer if in doubt. Nothing worse than having to unexpectedly replace the power supply to run the new card!

Hope it works out for you if you get the card. Have an awesome day!

The 6800 XT at ~$500 was/is an incredible bank-for-buck. The 6950 XT gets about 10-20% more FPS in a lot of benchmarks and costs about 25% more so the performance scales well with the cost. I paid $530 for my 6800 XT and couldn't be happier. The 6950 XT was a bit too power hungry for my mini ITX build anyway, but I agree with your assessment that these are great value in the current market.

Seems good to me considering this was once a $1200 card during the gouging days. However, most of these seem like great deals to me since I bought a 3060Ti for $715 all-in during the bubble.
I paid $530 + tax for a 3060 TI from B&H Photo Video to upgrade from a 3060 I received in a sub $1k ABS gaming PC. Should have been satisfied w the 3060 TBT.

Do you get fps drops and stutter with the 6800xt? I just submitted an rma for mine as no matter what settings ive tried intermittently i will get these drops and stutter as im gaming and its annoying as f. Google search seems like it was a rather common issue with the 6800xt and amd processors(im using overclocked 2600). Wonder if the 6950 has the same issue also if anyone knows..

Great card at a decent price. I bought a 6800 XT because it's an overall better value, but it's understandable that higher-end products are less cost-efficient at a frames/$ basis.

One thing I'd like to add is that these Asrock cards are HUGE, check the length of the card and make sure it fits into your case before you purchase. Or buy a new case along with it! =X

TBH I am not having anything like that. I game in VR 99% of the time, mostly flight sim and racing sim, and bad stutters in VR would be noticeable, so I think I'm not hitting any of that. I have a 5900X though, so I wonder if your 2600 is your bottleneck. I would turn on some basic stats and see if your CPU is maxed and if you're maybe hitting 90°C - it could even be throttling. Basically see if you can determine if the CPU or the GPU is the culprit.

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time of it with your 6800 XT - I do hope you find a solution!

technically he is right. 6950xt is an official oc version of 6900.
Technically the 6950xt is slightly different. There were binned versions of the 6900xt that were known as XTX chips that had all-around better performance, lower power-draw, and better overclocking than base 6900xt chips. The 6950xt is essentially a guaranteed 6900xt XTX binned chip and does actually have more tangible differences than just being an overclocked card.
